SS Arcadia
In May 2010 I was asked to work once again with the team behind ‘Stand and Stare’ at the Old Boys Club, Nailsworth; this time on a site-specific project based at St. Marks Chambers, College Green, in Bristol. Presented as part of Mayfest, ‘SS Arcadia’ saw the transformation of a five-storey labyrinth of a building into a steamship which audience members could explore as they pleased, immersing themselves in both the glamour of the cruise, and the seedier and darker aspects of life below deck… Read more
The Irrepressibles
In October 2009 I began working with arts-music collective and chamber-pop performance orchestra The Irrepressibles as a live performer and member of the collective. I have since toured with them through Europe performing live at some incredible venues, as well as having the amazing opportunity to perform at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on the Southbank to launch the collective’s debut album ‘Mirror Mirror’. White Lights
September saw me returning to the Alma Tavern in Bristol to work with resident company Theatre West on the opening play of their 2009 ten-week season of new writing, ‘White Lights’ by Mike Akers. Set in an ailing modern-day local supermarket, the play centred on my character, checkout attendant Holly, trying to cope with strange pre-shift occurrences as the store marks the Mexican Day of the Dead… Read more

Stand and Stare
In February 2009 I was lucky enough to take part in an extraordinary site-specific project based at Nailsworth’s atmospheric Old Boy’s Club building. Produced by Fairgame Theatre it brought together a wealth of talent both from the local community and further afield. The residency spanned over two weeks, with a team of designers first transforming the building, using every nook and cranny to create a stimulating, beautiful backdrop which would in turn inspire the group of performers and devisers who followed. When the Lights Went Out
In September 2008 I began work with Stroud Theatre Company, rehearsing their new play ‘When the Lights Went Out’, inspired by life on the home front in rural Gloucestershire during the Second World War. The story centred on my character, Margaret Brooks, and the experiences of wartime life shaping her as she grows into womanhood. Read more
Twelfth Night Redux
Roughhouse Theatre’s ‘Twelfth Night’ returned to Bristol in July 2008 as part of the Bristol Shakespeare Festival. Bringing together the original cast in a new and exciting venue, this was the perfect opportunity to explore the play’s 1930’s Berlin setting even further, and use the solid grounding we already had to push the boundaries of dark and light in the script to new distances. Twelfth Night
In December 2007 I moved to Bristol to begin rehearsals for an exciting new production of ‘Twelfth Night’ for Roughhouse Theatre at the Alma Tavern and Theatre, Clifton. Set against the backdrop of a 1930’s Berlin cabaret club, I would play Feste as the resident entertainer at club Illyria; a secret place of free-drinking and hedonism where the local elite could play out their underground lives. Summer ’06 saw me joining the cast of the new musical ‘Catchy!’ which was produced by Total Beast and performed at Bedlam Theatre throughout the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A bawdy comedy set in mid-1660’s plague-time London, the show charts the story of a pair of star-crossed lovers who fall for each other over the body-collecting cart. A classic comic plot ensues as the lovers try to thwart the evil intentions of the girl’s father, the Mayor of London, who intends her marriage to diarist Samuel Pepys as part of a wider plot to burn down London town and build his and Christopher Wren’s vision of a new city!

The Bright and Bold Design
I finished my year at Drama Studio London with a great role; Jessie Frost in Peter Whelan’s ‘The Bright and Bold Design’. She was an intriguing character to play; a strong and capable young woman in many ways yet with a fragility that she couldn’t escape. Read more
Drama Studio London
In August 2004 I began my training at Drama Studio London, and spent the next year learning as much as I could from the school’s knowledgeable and inspiring tutors. It was a practical training, which focused not only on acting for the stage, but also for TV, commercials and radio, as well as storytelling, role-play and drama for business. Classes included the core subjects of voice, movement, singing, dance, improvisation and text analysis, as well as stage combat, theatre history, stagecraft, accents, physical theatre, period movement, audition technique, and character.
