The Bright and Bold Design
I was lucky enough to finish my year at Drama Studio London with a great role; Jessie Frost in Peter Whelan’s ‘The Bright and Bold Design’. She was an intriguing character to play; a strong and capable young woman in many ways yet with a fragility that she couldn’t escape.
Painting on stage was something I had to get used to very quickly; which was daunting, especially as Jessie is described in the play as a very talented painter (which I certainly am not!) However, I enjoyed every minute of playing this role, which required a range of emotional detail beyond any character I’d played before.
We received great feedback from our audiences, which was particularly encouraging as the play was open to the public and outside guests as well as fellow students and tutors.
