‘Wrestling Yetis’
In February 2011 I joined independent filmmaker Ben Mills and his team to make short film 'Wrestling Yetis' on location in Southampton. A heart-warming and comic tale, it is the story of Peter, office manager and map retailer, attempting to enthuse his employees within the workplace via the innovative methods of Laszlo, a 'morale engineer'. Shot on HD and originally intended for the reed.co.uk short film festival, it has since enjoyed success in various competitions and festivals around the UK.
So far 'Wrestling Yetis' has been within the official selection for Witney Film Festival 2011, Walthamstow International Film Festival 2011 and OneWayTheatre June 2011, was shown at Shortcutz June 2011, won Best Story at Red Carpet Screenings International Short Film Festival 2011 and was Film of the Month for Film Nation Shorts in July 2011, meaning it has been shown on BBC big screens in town centres throughout the UK as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
