"Anna Westlake's Adriana is commanding and shrewish but spirited and likeable all the same... an evening of superlative comedy."
William Stafford for Bum on a Seat

"All were excellent and the comic acting chemistry between them sizzles."
Zena Hawley for Derby Telegraph

"Acting from everyone is beautifully tongue-in-cheek. Marlon Soloman's caricature of an oriental goldsmith and a brilliant Dr Pinch, Gavin Harrison as Antipholus and Antipholus, Dominic Gee-Burch, Anna Westlake and Miranda Heath - they're all terrific."
Alan Geary for Nottingham Post

2013 brought a fun summer on the road with the excellent Oddsocks Productions touring their madcap, tongue-in-cheek version of Shakespeare's 'The Comedy of Errors' to outdoor venues throughout England and the Channel Islands. Oddsocks are well-known for their delightfully irreverent takes on Shakespeare and have been producing an inimitable brand of musical, physical and family-friendly entertainment for over twenty years now, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to work with such a well-loved company.

In the play we meet two sets of twins; two masters and two servants who were separated from their brothers in infancy by a shipwreck. Craziness soon ensues when their paths finally cross - I played Adriana, the lonely nagging wife of Antipholus of Ephesus (one of the masters), who finds her husband's behaviour increasingly bewildering every time she unwittingly mistakes twin for spouse...

This was a very musical production, with our own take on popular songs throughout, and featuring tunes such as 'House of Fun' and 'Night Boat to Cairo' by Madness, 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' by Diana Ross, The Specials' 'Ghost Town' and even 'Golddigga' by Kanye West. I worked closely with fellow actor-musician Dominic Gee-Burch on arranging these songs for the group and loved every minute of it!

This show was a real treat to work on; fun, challenging, and wonderfully received by the fabulous Oddsocks audiences.

A servant and master from far off Syracuse arrive in Ephesus in search of their long-lost twin brothers. In no time at all they are trapped in a terrifying chain of chaotic events...

Tormented by a wild wife, a moody mistress, challenged by a crazy jeweller and damned by a demonic doctor, the terrified twosome run headlong into a climactic happy ending which defies all probability.

A summer Turkish delight not to be missed!

"Anna played a feisty, firey Adriana in our 2013 open air national tour of Shakespeare's 'The Comedy of Errors'. Our audiences are loyal followers who demand more than a great performance of character; they are used to being entertained, challenged, spoken to directly and made to feel valued when they come to an Oddsocks show.  In her first tour with us Anna rose to the challenge and met all their expectations. Also with her professionalism, dedication to the job, good humour and positive attitude throughout the long, sometimes challenging tour she exceeded ours.  An asset to any company!"
